Unlock your potential by changing your mindset.

Hi, I’m Rebecca!

I teach women how to reach their full potential by releasing negative beliefs and bounce back from challenges.

I founded Twisted Lotus Yoga & Wellness after surviving countless traumas and setbacks, yet learning tools to build resilience and thrive.

I’ve been “different” my entire life. The black sheep of the family, the friend with the weird ideas, the spiritual “woo” person. I start with this because I AM different, but I wasn’t when it came to many life experiences. I suffered from emotional and verbal abuse the majority of my life. I even suffered from other traumatic abuses.

I've gone through countless transitions throughout my life, whether it's full on career changes, moving, relationships, friendships, financial struggles, familial matters...you name it.

One thing that helped me survive all of the challenges was a mindset of resilience. Over the decades I’ve pinpointed what helped me and picked up various tools along the way so now I can THRIVE and not just survive.

I see mindset and resilience coaching as helping individuals like YOU navigate the process, staying true to yourself and setting you up with mindset tools to get to the other side.

Why the name Twisted Lotus? The lotus is deeply rooted in mud and murky water, yet it grows and produces a beautiful flower. It is a symbol of self-regeneration, purity, and triumph over obstacles. Twists offer so many health benefits including: detox, de-stress, cleansing of organs and toxins, pain reduction, healthy spinal rotation, improved digestion, and mobility. Combining these two into Twisted Lotus allows us to overcome our obstacles to continue to lengthen, relax, and realign with our health and wellness.

To keep the body in good health is a duty... otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.

Quick Facts About Me:

Growing up:

I lived just outside of Detroit and spent a lot of time in the city. I ate a lot of junk food as a kid and was sick all the time, but loved being active and played any sport I could try out for.

Animal of Choice:

I was a big dog person for most of my life. Then due to an insanely busy schedule I got a cat and fell in love with him. Now I have two cats; Gatsby and Daisy and yes, they’re named after The Great Gatsby.

Eating Habits:

Gluten free because of intolerance. I eat to balance my Ayurveda doshas, which is typically a pitta pacifying diet. I also live by the 80/20 rule; eat healthy 80% of the time and allow for treats the other 20%. My treats are GF cookies, GF carrot cake, and strawberry or coconut/pineapple ice cream.

Things I’m Afraid of:

Bridges over water and spiders, but who isn’t afraid of spiders??? Also, I have a big fear of failure, even though I KNOW failure is good for growth.

Favorite Hobbies:

I clearly love yoga, but some of my other faves are Pilates, brunching with friends, reading, traveling, golfing, and listening to music (just about anything, but country).

Health Challenges:

Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), a multitude of allergies, asthma, stress, and anxiety. All of these problems contributed to WHY I became a health coach.

My Passion:

Helping burned out professionals find wellness in their personal lives and careers.

You’d Never Guess:

My college degrees are in political science and public policy. I’ve worked in corporate, government, non-profit, and legal industries.

Random Facts:

I’m a recovering workaholic, shopaholic, perfectionist, and overachiever. I continue to work through generations of trauma and release the “not enough” mentality. I’ve been working on slowing down for years and relying less on external factors for happiness. Also, I will randomly belt out a ‘90s jam when I hear one playing.
